Selecting The Perfect Queen Bed Frame

When it comes to the queen bed frame it seems as though it should be relatively easy to pick one out. With all the time and energy you have to put into selecting the right queen mattress the bed frame doesn’t seem quite as relevant. For a mattress you have to lay on it, turn on it, go lay on another one, flip about, and then find another one to lay on. It’s a process, no doubt.

The queen frame, however, isn’t quite as reliant upon human contact to determine its level of comfort. Yet, the support that the frame offers the mattress can in fact change the comfort level of the bed you just bought. Typically, the box spring lies on the frame. The frame is generally a rectangular shape that it just a bit smaller than the box spring. This gives the mattress all around support without giving it cross section support.

There are other bed frames that include slats that go across the underside of the mattress to make the bed a little firmer. People with back problems tend to go with the bed frame with slats because it provides a strong platform for the mattress. Basically, this means that your bed is firmer, which results in less sagging in the middle of the mattress.

Surprisingly to most people, is how much money can be spent on a bed frame in comparison to the cost of the mattress and box springs. But the thing is, you don’t have to go with this expensive option. Think about it; what are the major differences between a super expensive bed frame and a modestly priced frame? Mostly it’s just looks and marketing. Granted an expensive frame may be a little stronger, but not so much that it justifies the increase in price.

There are people that care about the way their bed frame looks. More than likely, your frame won’t be seen during the winter months when you have all of your blankets piled on top of your bed. However, you may be able to to see it on occasion during the summer months if you don’t hide the lower part of the mattress and bed frame with your comforter.

By simply skirting your bedding over your mattress, no one will ever see your queen bed frame. And let’s be honest; no one is going to make a conscious effort to look under your bed to see your bed frame. This skirting covers not only the bed frame, but also the box spring, and the space between the frame and the floor. This allows you to place anything you want under bed and not worry about lack of privacy. More importantly, the bedding skirt also enables you to cover the queen bed frame entirely. So you can always opt for a cheaper frame, since no one will ever see it and you won’t be sacrificing comfort.

Around the world and throughout the lengthy history of the bed, the frame size can vary by several inches. Many frames can adjust a few inches lengthwise and width wise to make sure they can fit beds around the globe.

Once considered the utmost in luxury accommodations, the bed is now considered to be a necessity and has not been reserved for royalty or the wealthy for many generations now. The queen bed frame can end up being the absolute most comfortable and popular size we have in the United States.
