Celebrities Arrested For Recent Domestic Violence
A number of celebrities have recently been arrested for domestic violence. Movie stars, athletes and others are increasingly making news for their involvement with spousal abuse. These arrests highlight just how commonplace domestic violence is in our country. Recently Tito Ortiz, Charlie Sheen and Corey Dillon have all been arrested after their significant others called 911 for help.
Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, such as Charlie Sheen, are linked with domestic violence episodes. The “Wall Street” and “Major League” star was vacationing in Aspen, Co over the 2009 Christmas holiday, when Aspen police responded to a distress call at a private residence. In addition, an ambulance was sent to the ski town residence. Mr. Sheen was taken into custody for investigation of menacing and criminal mischief and second-degree assault. After spending much of Christmas day in the Pitkin County jail, he was released on an $8500 bond.
Tito Ortiz is no stranger to violence. As an Ultimate Fighting Championship super star his job is to use his mixed martial arts skills to fight other men. However, Mr. Ortiz recently found himself in trouble for violence outside of the ring. After a 911 call, police were dispatched to the Huntington Beach home he shares with his porn starlet girlfriend named Jenna Jameson and their two twin boys. After finding visible bruises on Jenna Jameson, Mr. Ortiz was arrested for domestic violence and placed into an Orange County jail. A $25,000 bail was posted and Mr. Ortiz was later released.
Former NFL star running back, Corey Dillon, was arrested for domestic violence just days ago. The Bengals and Patriots standout was taken into custody after Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call. His wife claimed that she was assaulted after the two had argued about issues surrounding child custody and their impending divorce. Deputies reported minor injuries to Mrs. Dillon and consequently Corey Dillon was taken into custody from their Calabasas residence. He later paid a $50,000 bail and was released.
Celebrities are notorious for getting into trouble, but it seems as though allegations of domestic violence are on the rise. Undoubtedly, any celebrity that faces charges of spousal abuse is in for a long and expensive road to rehabilitate their reputations and relationships.
