Areas You Are Overlooking When Trying to Lower Your Golf Score
There are so many reasons why good golfers have low scores. After so many rounds of playing with them, here’s what I found.
So many people buy new golf gear year after year, but they soon realize that it doesn’t help much no matter how many times they change their driver!
Some people take lessons too. They help a great deal, but they are expensive and you really need to dedicate yourself for this to work.
The ultra addicted always practice their short game. It might be the best method but it’s ultra hard to do because it takes so much time! Practice, hitting ball after ball after ball will become routine if you fall under this category.
All these are good but there’s actually something even easier. Check these tips out for a guaranteed few strokes off!
1. Glove – We all need to change gloves much more often than we do. If we don’t change gloves every so often, we cannot grip the clubs pretty soon and our clubs will slip! How do you expect to hit the ball at the same spot every time?
2. Spikes – New spikes usually bring new life into my golf game. No longer am I slipping all over the place but it’s also easier to walk the course with it. Especially in the sand or in uneven lies, I hit the ball much better.
3. Tees – When I hit my tee shots, I want the ball to hit the sweet spot of the club face every time. Having the same tee height is the only way I can do this (apart from having a repeatable swing).
4. Hydration – I used to play well on the first few holes and then tail off. Once I started drinking and staying cool, I no longer have this problem. My focus is better and I can play 18 holes without problems!
5. Warm up – I still don’t spend enough time on warm up but I noticed that sometimes it takes me 1-2 holes just to get relaxed and able to swing freely. This is all due to not having enough warm up. Warming up also helps relaxes your mind and enables you to make adjustments to compensate for the way balls are flying. More importantly, warming up reduces injuries! 1-3 strokes saved
6. Eat Light – Don’t eat something heavy because you will feel sleepy and your muscles will slow down. You don’t want to hit the ball shorter than normal do you? With too much in your stomach, you also won’t be able to focus as much.
